Repair Windows Registry - in under 2 minutes

Periodic registry repair and clean up is very important to maintain a healthy, high-performance, error-free computer. This is the reason why several experienced computer technicians and experts recommend using a good registry cleaner tool for the purpose. We recommend RegCure, it's open source and it just works.

TIPS AND TRICKS

1. Dont Mess with it manually
DO not mess with your computer registry manually if you do not know what you are doing! This can destroy your windows computer and send it to an early and unwanted death. Seriously. So here are a range of tips on what to do and what registry cleaners you should use to repair your windows registry. Unless you are an expert…

2. Select a Reliable Registry Cleaner
The tool you select should:
· - Be compatible with your Windows operating system.
· - Have good user reviews.
· - Be easy-to-use.
· - Comprise the features you need.

3. Back up your data.
Often overlooked and often regretted! Make sure you have a recent back up before you start any registry clean or maintenance. It will only take a small amount of time – but you wont regret it!

4. Pay Attention:
When you are running any other program – you don’t take too much notice, click the buttons that come up and hope it all works out OK at the other end! DO NOT do this when you are cleaning your registry. Stay alert and read everything that comes up on the screen before you regret it! Listen to what your cleaning tool has to say!

5. Close other programs
When you begin cleaning your registry, make sure not to have any applications running; if possible, it's also smart to unload any tools running in your system tray. That's because open apps are constantly making Registry changes, and you want the Registry cleaner to do its work with no interference.

6. Fix the ‘Safe’ Errors
After the scan, the program will let you remove or repair Registry errors. If you're given the option, set the Registry cleaner to remove errors only at the safest and least-intrusive level. (You can scan with more-aggressive settings later on.) You might see 500 or even a thousand "safe" entries that need cleaning.

Do not EVER choose an autoclean option… Ever. They are not to be trusted.

7. Go Play with The Dog
When you have let the computer start removing Registry entries, walk away from your PC. Go and play with your dog, go for a run, or hang out on the couch! Do not sit there and play with the computer – you could find yourself making changes to the computers registry while the registry cleaner is working… not advisable!

8. Don’t Panic
If there are any problems, like a certain program not loading… listen – do NOT PANIC! Simply use the restore featyre and reverse the changes that have just been made. This should fix the problem!

9. Once A Month
Scan your windows registry once a month or so. If you do this you will keep your computer in great condition and running optimally. Running a registry scan more often is not required and you are unlikely to see additional benefit from doing so.
